Dear Parents/Guardian or Staff::

I am writing in connection with recent events involving one of our school employees. John Hamilton, who has worked for the District as a substitute bus driver, is under investigation according to published reports by federal and state agents relating to receipt and distribution of child pornography. The information that I have received indicates that the alleged crime of receiving child pornography occurred on Mr. Hamilton's home computer.

We have not received any information or accusation that Mr. Hamilton's alleged activities were in any way connected to the school or the school community. At the present time, Mr. Hamilton is not working for the District.

I want to assure you that the District will take all actions necessary and appropriate to protect students. The District will also cooperate fully with the authorities in this matter.

At this point, we have no reason to believe that Mr. Hamilton has taken any inappropriate actions with students. If you have information to the contrary, that information should be shared with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and/or with local police authorities as soon as possible.
