voters approve 2012-13 budget and bus
proposition

Education
Niskayuna Central
School District voters on Tuesday approved the
2012-13 budget on Tuesday, with 2,261 casting
votes in favor of the $75.3 million spending
plan and 999 opposed. Voters also approved the
bus purchase proposition and elected incumbents
Barbara Mauro and Bob Winchester to new, 3-year
terms on the Board of Education. The results,
announced at Niskayuna High School shortly after
the polls closed, show 69.4 percent of the 3,260
voters supported the budget.

teachers agree to contract concessions
The
Niskayuna Central School District and the
Niskayuna Teachers’ Association (NTA) announced
on Friday, May 11, that the teachers' union has
agreed to concessions that will save the
district about $450,000 over the next two years
and strengthen the district’s ability to
preserve educational programming in this
difficult economic climate.

strategies to support students with ADHD at home
and in the classroom. The event, sponsored by
Nisky C.A.R.E.S., will be held from 6 p.m. to 8
p.m. in the Board of Education Meeting Room at
