Students shall graduate from Niskayuna High School by completing the required state and local requirements. Students who have completed the requirements for a Regents diploma or for a local diploma are qualified to receive a high school diploma.

Students with disabilities who have completed the requirements specified in their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and approved by the Committee on Special Education (CSE) are qualified to receive an IEP diploma or a local certificate. Students earning an IEP diploma or a local certificate diploma shall be informed of their right to attend the public schools until they either earn a high school diploma or attain age 21 prior to September first of a school year.

The Superintendent of Schools is directed to promulgate regulations for the granting of IEP diplomas in accordance with the laws and regulations governing disabled students. Whenever possible, the individualized education program for a student with a disability should be designed to enable the student to earn a Regents or a regular local high school diploma.
