Funds will be used for hurricane relief

On Halloween this year, Birchwood students in the fifth grade classes of Ellen DiRienzo and Amy Isenhart collected more than candy. They raised $559.60 trick or treating for UNICEF. Funds raised through this year’s UNICEF campaign will support children who have been impacted by the recent earthquakes in Mexico and the hurricanes that hit the Caribbean and U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico. This initiative supports the students’ current studies of both Human Rights and Latin America.
