The Niskayuna High School production of “The Phantom of the Opera” was named the 2017 Best Musical at the High School Musical Theater Awards at Proctors Theater on Saturday, May 20.

Proctors and the Times Union sponsored the high school awards program, which they are calling a “first-of-its-kind” event. It recognized the performances and behind-the-scenes work of area students in 10 categories.

“The Phantom of the Opera” also received awards for “Best Set Construction” and “Best Technical Execution.” The production impressed audiences ove the course of four performances in the Niskayuna High School auditorium in early March of this year.

Congratulations to the orchestra, cast and crew on such a tremendous honor, reflecting their hard work, dedication and talent.
