Schenectady/Niskayuna High School Summer Program 2017

The Schenectady and Niskayuna School Districts in collaboration with Capital Region BOCES will be offering a High School Summer Program at Schenectady High School. This is a fully accredited program that will be made available only to registered students of Schenectady and Niskayuna schools.

The Summer School Program will be held at Schenectady High School, 1445 The Plaza, Schenectady, NY 12308.



All students are advised to speak with their counselor concerning course recommendations. Registration will be held at Niskayuna High School on: Monday, June 26 from 9-12 in the Counseling Center.


***Registration Notes***

Students who are failing a course/regents exam should speak with their counselors as soon as possible. For registration, students must have information from a school counselor and a June report card, if available, documenting a course failure.

*Courses are offered on the basis of student enrollment


Summer School Schedule

Classes will be held from Wednesday, July 5th-Tuesday August 15th, 2017. Regents Exams will be held on Wednesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 17.

Daily Schedule: Two Periods

Period 1: 8:00AM-10:00AM
Period 2: 10:10AM-12:10PM


Walk-In Regents Exams

A student who is not enrolled in Summer School, but wishes to take an examination(s) must do the following: Contact Schenectady's Summer School office after July 10th to register at 881-3908 from 9:00 a.m. - Noon.



The BOCES Discipline Code of Conduct will be followed. Serious infractions of the Discipline Code may result in dismissal from the program. Any student with 3 discipline referrals will be subject to dismissal from the program.


Attendance Policy

Any student with 3 unexcused absences will be dismissed from summer school with no credit given.

Breakfast/Lunch ProgramA breakfast/lunch program (bagged lunch) will be offered to all summer school students. The cafeteria will be open from 7:30 - 7:55 a.m. and 12:10 - 12:30 p.m.
